We would like to introduce you to Tamaido, a Japanese confectionery shop located in Tamashima, Kurashiki city, which was founded in 1868.

Located in Tamashima's Toricho shopping arcade, this shop is known not only for its colorful Japanese sweets, but also for its fluffy waffles, which have been a popular item for over 30 years.
The lightly sweet custard cream is made only after an order is placed, and the owner (Tamaido's Bessho Yoshiharu) says, "If possible, we serve it fresh," and his love for customers and sweets continues to attract many fans.

The owner, Mr. Bessho, trained at a Western confectionery shop and an Italian restaurant in Tokyo before taking over the business as the third generation owner. While inheriting traditional Japanese confectionery techniques, he continues to experiment with new ingredients and methods, staying in line with the times.
He is also actively involved in the development of the local area, such as producing the Tamashima-based film "Lift Your Tail!"
